War threatens the Mainland from the north, and Ytheu Elmen is called to travel to the militant land of Blaodstakia and share the High King’s message of peace. A daunting task for a young Magicina in a country that despises magic and a diplomat in a land of warriors.

But Blaodstakia is not the only threat on the horizon for the Magicianship. Nalmendore receives a harrowing challenge from the Lord of the Shadow Knights. The cohort of dark magic users is larger and better trained than Nalmendore’s fledgling band of Magicians, but he must rally them to meet the threat.

Everything hinges on Ytheu’s success. The odds are stacked against the Magicianship in a conflict with the Shadow Knights, and a failure in her negotiations would result in an even greater threat—two wars at once.
